Antimony as the negative electrode for various batteries / Lei Zhang -- 6. Bismuth as the negative electrode for various batteries / Dan Li.The energy demands of contemporary society mandate the urgent development and commercialisation of a 'post-Li-ion battery'. Metal anodes are an important piece of this puzzle. This research and reference text discusses the role of metal electrodes in batteries in detail. Introducing the fundamental theoretical properties of metal anodes, the book surveys the history and prospects of the field, covering a wide range of metals, including Li, Na, K, Mg, Al, Zn, Ge, Sn, Sb and Bi. The first book of its kind to offer a comprehensive survey of the field, 'Metal Electrodes and Battery Technologies' facilitates engagement with the latest research and future challenges concerning the role of metals in the development of high-capacity batteries.Researchers and graduate students working in the fields of electrochemistry and energy storage. Also available in print.Mode of access: World Wide Web.System requirements: Adobe Acrobat Reader, EPUB reader, or Kindle reader.Yurong Ren is now a professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Changzhou University, Changzhou, China. She received her bachelor's degree from Jilin Normal University in July 1998 and PhD degree in Chengdu Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in July 2010. She once worked in the University of California, Los Angeles as a visiting scholar from 2015 to 2016. Jianmin Ma is a professor in University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, China. He received his BS degree in Chemistry from the Shanxi Normal University in 2003 and PhD degree in Materials Physics and Chemistry from the Nankai University in 2011.
