Nair.Hailed as the wonder material of the 21st century, graphene presents a wide range of possibilities in terms of its technological and industrial uses. This reference text provides a comprehensive review of the recent advances in graphene-based research and technology. The book combines the necessary background and theory alongside a broad spectrum of cutting-edge applications of graphene and its types. Recent advances, including electronic, photonic, optoelectronic and sensing applications, and membranes and coatings, are presented in detail. Special chapters are devoted to the most contemporary attributes of graphene, mainly its metamaterial, magnetic and non-linear properties. The book concludes with a discussion of future prospects of graphene-based research. Aimed at both advanced researchers and those new to the field, the book is suitable for research scholars, scientists, teachers and the wider academic community.Researchers and postgraduates in the areas of 2D materials, graphene and graphene-based technologies. The book will be particularly useful for postgraduate students and early-career researchers moving into the graphene field. Also available in print.Mode of access: World Wide Web.System requirements: Adobe Acrobat Reader, EPUB reader, or Kindle reader.Professor Anoop Chandran is an assistant professor in the department of physics at St. Cyril's College, India. He was awarded his PhD in 2015 for his work on 1D semiconductor nanomaterials and was awarded the Dr D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship for his proposal on semiconductor-CNT/graphene hybrids. He has many publications in reputed international journals including the Journal of Applied Physics, Applied Surface Science, Physical Chemistry and Chemical Physics. Professor N.V. Unnikrishnan is a visiting professor at Mahatma Gandhi University, India. He has completed ten major projects funded by agencies including UGC, CSIR, DAE-DRNS and TWAS, and published 236 research papers in international journals. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and a referee of many internationally reputed journals. Professor M.K. Jayaraj is the vice chancellor of the University of Calicut, India. He received his PhD in physics from CUSAT in 1990. He was a visiting scientist to ENEA, Italy, in 1994-95 and received a European Commission fellowship to work at the University of Pierre et Marie Curie from 1995-96. He has more than 220 publications to his credit. Professor Reenu Elizabeth John is an assistant professor of physics at Saintgits College of Engineering, India. She obtained her PhD from St. Berchmans College for her work on 1D transition metal oxides. Mr. Justin George is a PhD fellow at the University of Auckland under the supervision of distinguished Professor Debes Bhattacharyya.
